Your photos stay on your device unless you allow AI sharing and request an AI feature, enable automatic photo ideas, or choose to share them. Before the first AI upload, SayPic asks for explicit permission and explains the recipients and data. Declining AI sharing does not prevent camera use, crop, local saving or sample browsing.
Information we process
- Account information: your email address, display name, authentication provider, and account identifier.
- Photos and instructions: the selected photo, selected area, original reference photo for face matching, and typed or transcribed instruction when you request an edit or photo-specific ideas. Create image sends your text description without a source photo.
- Voice recording: native iOS voice input uses Apple speech recognition; audio may be processed by Apple unless the device handles recognition locally. On other platforms, the operating system or browser supplies speech recognition. If server transcription is used, audio is sent to OpenAI. System permission is requested before recording. SayPic does not intentionally retain the audio after transcription finishes.
- Purchases: subscription product, transaction status, and entitlement information needed to verify purchases and maintain credits.
- Feedback: the message and display name you choose to send privately to SayPic support.
- Device and service information: an app-installation identifier, security attestations, optional push token, and limited status or error metadata needed to secure and operate the service.
- Optional analytics: only after you enable it in Settings → Privacy, an account identifier, an app-installation identifier, app and device characteristics, product interactions, and crash or diagnostic information. Analytics does not include photos, prompts, names, email addresses, purchase transaction IDs, push tokens, or notification contents.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate accounts, perform requested edits and transcription, suggest ideas, save credits and purchase status, deliver completion notifications, answer private feedback, understand feature use, improve SayPic, prevent abuse, and diagnose service failures.
Service providers
SayPic relies on service providers to perform requested features: Firebase for authentication and feedback, Apple for sign-in, App Store purchases and native iOS speech recognition, Civitai and model providers OpenAI, Google or xAI for image edits and photo ideas, OpenAI for voice transcription and some image tools, Expo for optional push notifications, PostHog for product analytics and error reporting when you opt in, and Railway for server hosting. Their processing is governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Storage and retention
Your local sessions and gallery remain on your device until you remove them or delete the app. Active server-side edit jobs and recoverable results are retained for up to seven days. Restricted disaster-recovery backups can retain deleted data for up to 27 additional days. AI providers maintain their own processing and retention policies; our seven-day limit does not describe their systems. Account deletion requests removal of account-linked PostHog profiles and events; PostHog processes this deletion asynchronously. Account, purchase, security, and support records are kept only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.
Your choices
AI sharing requires your explicit permission. Automatic photo ideas and optional analytics are off by default. In Settings → Privacy, you can withdraw AI sharing or turn off analytics at any time. Withdrawal stops new uploads; requests already sent may finish and previously collected data follows the retention policy. You can avoid voice input, decline notifications, remove local gallery items, manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple, and permanently delete your SayPic account and associated personal data from Settings → Account. Certain purchase records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.
Children
SayPic is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as SayPic changes. The date at the bottom identifies the latest version.
